Delhi- The Heart of India
I have always felt there is a special fragrance in the air of Delhi, whether it’s Chandni chowk or Nijamuddin or connaught place or Karol Bagh or Vasant Vihar,I have always felt that. This fragrance has always been an integral part of my life.
Delhi is today a bustling metropolis and a happening city with excellent infrastructure, but still retains its old charm…This is the city where I spent some of the most memorable moments of life. I believe Delhi is the capital of India by default. The name it self is very special “Dilli”….certainly it is a land of big hearted people. That’s why they say “Dilli Hai Dil walon Ki”.
Though I consider myself a horrible photographer and am generally equipped with my cell phone as camera (And it adds horribly to my horribleness as photographer 🙂 )
Following are few snaps of the CP, New Delhi at morning 8 am, 6-June-08.

following single picture of cp is not by me….i’ve included it here as it was matching with my other pics beautifully
Now let’s do away with CP, Following picture (it’s an older picture not taken same day) i took later from a flyover at sardar patel road, South Delhi from within a running car…flyovers like these all over Delhi have made it a pleasure to drive in Delhi (?..of course not in all parts of Delhi)
Such kind of national symbols one can find anywhere in Delhi, as in the following pic-the Dandi march of Mahatma Gandhi…that’s why Delhi is truly the heart of India
Later, i took few snaps of the Raj path too, which are following
Following is the central secretariat, It gives a proud feeling to stand in front of the seat of the Government of India, the building on the left hand side is the South Block, on right hand side is the North Block, and the dome visible in the middle is the “Rashtra Pati Bhawan”, ie the President’s House…
The south block houses the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of defence and Ministry of external affairs whereas the North Block houses Finance and home ministries. The Parliament is at the right hand side from the intersection …about 300 m away but not visible in this snap
Following two pictures are of the Parliament of India
Folllowing photo has been taken standing in front of the central secretariat, at the distant end India Gate is visible (Can you see ?), Rajpath connects central secretariat to the India gate which is about 2.5 km away
Following is the famous India Gate
And Delhi is not just a beautiful city but is a major commercial hub also, a recent survey worldwide has included Delhi among the major commercial hubs of the world……. two other Indian cities in the list were Mumbai and Bangalore, while Mumbai still maintains it’s place as the leading commercial hub of India, Bangalore is known as the silicon valley of India.
